Plant Sale Volunteer

Start date: May 11, 2019
End date: May 12, 2019

Saturday and Sunday times approximately 9 am to 3:30 pm (may change slightly)

Come be a part of the immensely popular annual plant sale at the U of A Botanic Garden. In this position, you will be providing support to our visitor services team by greeting and directing the public on this busy and exciting day. The ideal candidate for this position has a positive attitude, enjoys working with people and loves being outdoors.

Interpretation Volunteer

Start date: June 15, 2019
End date: September 29, 2019

Mostly weekends from 11 am to 3 pm.

If you love people and enjoy spending your time outside in a beautiful setting, consider becoming an interpretation volunteer at the University of Alberta Botanic garden. Alongside the education department, you will enhance our visitors' experiences by assisting families with our drop in programs and interpretation projects, including but not limited to crafts, games, and a tasting cart. This position is ideal for a person with a positive and outgoing attitude who loves to have fun.

Plant Specimen Collector

Start date: June 17, 2019
End date: August 30, 2019

Wednesdays, 4-7 pm and Saturdays, 10 am - 1 pm.

Are you interested in the study and conservation of native plant specimens? Consider applying for the plant specimen collector volunteer position at the U of A Botanic Garden. Spend the summer at the garden, under the guidance of our trained horticulturists collecting, keying and pressing native Alberta plant species. You will be contributing to the botanic garden by helping us expand our herbarium collection. No previous experience required - orientation and training is provided. Only selected candidates will be contacted.
