Tropical showhouse tour with Sarah Pratt
Transport yourself to a lush tropical paradise where flowers, fruit and immense leaves grow quickly in the warm, humid conditions. Some of the specimens here you may recognize as popular houseplants, so come see how they grow in this environment.

Pruning with Len Chambers
Horticulturalist Len will give a spring tree pruning tutorial.

Friday, June 17, 2 p.m.
Pond catch with Emily Brezden
Emily will take guests to the Calla Pond for a fun exploration of the insects and other living things in and around the water. Perfect activity for kids!

Saturday, June 18, 2 p.m.
Henna with Needa Rahim
Needa will apply henna tattoos of her original design to guests while also sharing the origin and making of henna. Henna symbolizes health and prosperity in some cultures and is applied globally in various countries. This art workshop is included in the cost of admission. Space is limited and guests can get a henna tattoo on a first-come first-serve basis.

Backyard Bug Friends with Mike Jenkins
Join Mike, a City of Edmonton pest management co-ordinator, for a look through the flowers, fields, ponds and bushes for pollinators, predators, parasitoids and other beneficial insects that share our garden and some tips on how to encourage them.
