Meeting FAQ

Can I view the meeting spaces and Gardens in the winter?
The Ozawa Pavilion, Ikoi no ba and classrooms are year-round facilities and can be viewed by appointment only during most of the year. Contact us to arrange a viewing.  The Field House is available for viewing during the Garden’s open season, by appointment only.

How much is the deposit and what forms of payment do you accept?

A 50% non-refundable deposit is required for all meeting space bookings. There are no exceptions. Payment can be made with Visa, MasterCard, debit, money order, cash or company cheque. Personal cheques are not accepted.

What equipment is included?
Flip charts, projectors and screens are available on request. Internet access is available in all meeting spaces.

Can I serve alcohol at our meeting?
If you wish to serve alcohol at your meeting in the Ozawa Pavilion, Ikoi no ba or Field House, you must obtain a license (available where you purchase your beverages). Alcohol is not permitted in classroom spaces.

What about catering for our meeting?
Meetings at the Ikoi no ba, Ozawa Pavilion or Field House can be self-catered, as they all have fully-equipped kitchens, or you can contact us for a list of approved Garden caterers.

How do my guests know where to go on the day of our meeting?
Upon booking, you will be provided with directions and instructions for parking and entry that you can share with your guests. We also provide directional signage to your meeting site to help your guests find their way.

Can we rent a golf cart?
No. Golf carts cannot be rented by the public.

Where are you located? Are you on the University of Alberta campus?
We are not located on the University of Alberta campus. The University of Alberta Botanic Garden is located in Parkland County - only 15 minutes from West Edmonton Mall or SW Edmonton (5 km north of Devon on Highway 60).

Do you have not-for-profit rates for meeting spaces?
There is a 25% discount for University of Alberta internal users and not-for-profit groups.
